Backup and disaster recovery

Backups you have actually seen restored.

A backup is only real once you have restored from it

Microsoft does not back up your Microsoft 365 data in the way most people assume. A deleted mailbox, a ransomware-encrypted SharePoint library or a disgruntled ex-employee can take years of work with them. The same goes for the server in the cupboard and the laptops in the field.

What we set up

  • Microsoft 365 backup: Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, with point-in-time restore
  • Server and workstation backup with image-based recovery, local and off-site copies
  • Scheduled restore tests with a report you can show your insurer or board
  • A recovery plan: who does what, in what order, with what passwords, when things are on fire
  • Retention that matches your obligations: seven years for financial records, longer where your industry requires it

We are a Datto partner and also work with other platforms where they fit better.

Frequently asked questions

Doesn't Microsoft back up Microsoft 365?
Microsoft keeps your data highly available but only offers limited retention for deleted items. It does not protect you from ransomware, accidental bulk deletion or a malicious insider in the way a proper third-party backup does.
How often do you test restores?
Monthly for critical systems, with a written result. If a test fails, we fix it before anyone needs it for real.
