Custom web application development

Software built around how your business actually works.

When off-the-shelf stops fitting

Every business is told it is the same as every other business, and sold the same generic software. Then the spreadsheets appear, because the software doesn't do the one thing that makes your business yours. We build the thing that does.

A custom web application runs in the browser on any device, is yours to keep and changes when your business changes. It replaces the spreadsheets, the double entry and the "we just do it this way" workarounds with a system designed around your process.

What we have built

  • A complete business management system for a home-based bakery: customers, products, market stalls, point of sale, quotes and reporting, linked to their public website
  • An interactive medical education platform used by neonatologists to learn point-of-care ultrasound
  • Scientific calculators and conference tooling for a not-for-profit medical organisation
  • Inspection and reporting apps for engineering firms, online order management, dental clinic and event management systems

How we work

  1. Workshops to map how the work actually flows, not how the org chart says it does
  2. A clickable prototype so you react to something real before code is written
  3. Build in short cycles, with working software to try every couple of weeks
  4. Launch, host and support, with the same people who built it answering the phone

Technology

We build on modern, boring, well-supported technology: Python and FastAPI or .NET on the back end, PostgreSQL, and responsive front ends. Everything is hosted in New Zealand or Australia, backed up, monitored and secured the same way we look after our managed IT clients. You own the code.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom web application cost?
Small internal tools start in the low thousands; a full business management system is typically tens of thousands spread over a few months. We scope a first version that delivers value quickly and grow it from there, with fixed-price milestones.
Who owns the software?
You do. Source code, data and hosting accounts are yours. We ask to keep supporting it because that's the part most people want help with, not because you're locked in.
Can you integrate with Xero, Microsoft 365 or our existing systems?
Yes. Integration is usually the point. We connect to Xero, Microsoft 365, payment gateways, courier APIs, CRMs and industry systems regularly.
