Security that fits a small business budget
Most small businesses in New Zealand are not targeted by sophisticated attackers. They are caught by the ordinary stuff: a phished password, an unpatched laptop, an email that looks like it came from the boss, a backup that was never tested. The fix is rarely an expensive product. It is configuring what you already own properly and keeping it that way.
What we put in place
- Identity: multi-factor authentication for everyone, conditional access, and no shared passwords (we are a LastPass partner and roll it out properly)
- Devices: Microsoft Intune and Defender for Business on every computer, with encryption, patching and the ability to wipe a lost device remotely
- Email: anti-phishing, safe links and attachments, SPF, DKIM and DMARC so nobody can impersonate your domain
- Backups: Microsoft 365 and server backups that are restored and tested on a schedule, not just scheduled
- People: short, regular awareness training and simulated phishing so staff know what to look for
- Policies: the acceptable use, onboarding and offboarding processes insurers and auditors ask for
Microsoft 365 Business Premium, done right
Business Premium includes Intune, Defender for Business, Entra ID P1 and information protection. Most businesses pay for it and use a fraction. We configure it end to end, which usually means better security without buying anything new.
Cyber insurance and compliance
Insurers now ask for MFA, backups, endpoint protection and patching before they will write a policy. We get you to that baseline and give you the evidence, and we can help with NZISM-aligned and ISO 27001-aligned controls when a larger customer asks.
